Rome, 7 March (LaPresse) – "Today I reached the finish line and I believed in it less than yesterday. Halfway down the slope, I was exhausted, yesterday had drained me of so much energy, I had the feeling that it wasn't enough. Now I've won again by another hundredth of a second. When I saw the green light, I said to myself, “No way, this is a joke”. We've always talked about all my bad luck, but now in two days I've made up for it. It's incredible, it's all surreal and too good to be true." These were the words of Laura Pirovano, winner of the second downhill race in Val di Fassa. The Italian arrives at the last World Cup event with a 28-point lead over Aicher, and winning the World Cup in this discipline is no longer a dream: ‘I don't want to think about it, it's a mix of emotions that I'm struggling to manage. It's surreal. In the end, it's true, I've always missed the podium before, but consistency is paying off, I'm so happy,’ concluded the Trentino skier.
