Milan, 4 March (LaPresse) – "Twenty seasons as an F1 driver. It's difficult to even comprehend the reality of that number. It all started with a dream. A dream that some called ridiculous and, according to them, would never lead to anything. Despite this, the dream never changed, and I never stopped chasing it. A dream must be accompanied by action and, above all, conviction. A conviction that cannot be broken, regardless of what is thrown at you or what you face. There will always be people who doubt you, people who try to stop you, but you can never stop fighting.‘ So said Lewis Hamilton in a long post on Instagram ahead of the new Formula 1 season, his second with Scuderia Ferrari. ’Twenty years full of incredible highs and brutal lows, with more mistakes than I can count. But those mistakes made the journey even sweeter. You hold your destiny in your hands. Everything you need to succeed is inside you. You will need help along the way, like me, but that spark, that fire, is already inside you,‘ added the seven-time world champion. ’I will be eternally grateful for the lessons, the moments of tranquillity, the chaos and the many people who helped me pursue and realise my dreams. I am grateful to those who doubted me and even those who tried to knock me down. I am still here, 20 years later, still standing, still hungry, still focused on the dream. No brakes,‘ concluded Hamilton. There were several comments on the post, including one from Ferrari, which wrote: ’What an incredible journey! And it's not over yet."
