(LaPresse) – Thanks to Tallon Griekspoor's withdrawal before even taking to the court for the final of the Dubai Duty Free Championships (ATP500), Daniil Medvedev, after his success in Dubai in 2023, can now celebrate his 23rd career title and repeat a second success in the same location for the first time in his career. The withdrawal of the prodigious Griekspoor, who battled the Russian in Dubai last year and emerged victorious from their quarterfinal match, allows Medvedev to close the gap on No. 10 Alexander Bublik, now just 45 points behind, and add a second trophy in 2026 to his collection after the one he won in Brisbane in January.
