Bormio (Sondrio), 21 February (LaPresse) – "Yes, I got a bit bottled up, but unfortunately that's mass start for you. It's a very unpredictable race. I was on my own. I stayed behind, but perhaps I waited a little too long. That's the only thing I regret. I also took a few knocks, but that's part of the game." Francesca Lollobrigida, who finished fourth in the mass start, the race that closed the Olympic speed skating programme, spoke to Raisport. ‘I'm taking home two gold medals from these Olympics, as well as the warmth of the crowd, which was truly enormous, but also that from home. I will never stop thanking the whole of Italy because this was the perfect showcase, the best opportunity, so I will remember it for the rest of my life,’ added the Italian athlete. ‘My future? I will never compete at home again, so I can say that even if I were to end my career here, I would have ended it in the best possible way. The best moment? I started this journey for my son, so seeing him in the stands is everything,’ concluded Lollobrigida.
