Trento, 17 February (LaPresse) – As predicted, Japan's Ryota Yamamoto finished at the top of the individual Nordic combined jumping event. However, the Predazzo ski jump has already determined which athletes will be in contention for medals at the end of the cross-country skiing segment on the Tesero lake circuit. In second place is Austria's Johannes Lamparter, 8 seconds behind, followed by Norway's Andrea Skoglung, 16 seconds behind. Just behind, 22 seconds back, is the race favourite, Norway's Jens Luraas Oftebro, who already has a gold medal around his neck in the Normal Hill event at these Olympic Games. The Italian team is far behind: Samuel Costa is in 27th place, Aaron Kostner is in 28th and veteran Alessandro Pittin, competing in his sixth Olympics, is in 31st.
