Andrea Abodi, Minister for Sport and Youth, said this on the sidelines of the presentation of the initiatives sponsored by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers for the Day of Remembrance of the Martyrs of the Foibe and the Giuliano-Dalmatian Exodus, regarding the Italian team's chances of setting a medal record at these Olympic Games. ‘I wouldn't want it to be taken for granted: what we are reaping is only part of the effort and commitment of the athletes. Not all of us have the opportunity to understand what it means to work for four years with that goal in mind,’ added Abodi on the number of medals won so far by the Azzurri. . ‘It is an extraordinary commitment that testifies to the quality and talent of Italian athletes, but also of the coaches,’ he explained. ‘There will be more generous days and less generous days, but we are above all delighted with how these athletes behave.
