Cortina d'Ampezzo (Belluno), Feb. 8 (LaPresse) – “Looking at it from the outside, I recognize that it was far from an easy situation. I think everyone here expected me to win gold. I have achieved so much here, these are the Olympics… it was not an easy situation to handle. The positive thing today is that I managed that expectation well, staying focused on myself,” said Sofia Goggia at a press conference after winning bronze in the women’s downhill at the Milano Cortina Games. “Vonn’s fall? Given that I didn’t watch any athlete today, I realized she had fallen because shortly after the start I heard someone shouting. There was a race before that expectation and one after,” she added. “I was lucky because I managed to stay very focused on myself; perhaps also not knowing how the others had performed helped me stay even more in my own strategy, trying to relive the plan I had in mind.”
