Turin, 18 January (LaPresse) – Atle Lie McGrath confirms his status as the slalom skier in the best form at the moment, holding off his friend Lucas Pinheiro Brathen, who had a great second run, to win the slalom in Wengen, Switzerland, for the second consecutive year. In the lead since the first run, McGrath maintained his position at the top of the podium with a time of 1'45‘99, 0’47 ahead of Brathen, while behind them, fellow Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen finished third, 0"81 behind, celebrating his 100th slalom race in the top circuit. Meillard (+1.30) and Haugan (+1.53) were fourth and fifth ahead of the increasingly convincing Matthias Iten, sixth at 2.07 with bib number 44 and a 17-place improvement in the second run.
