ATP Adelaide, Bolelli and Vavassori eliminated in the semi-finals

Rome, 16 January (LaPresse) – Once again, Harri Heliovaara and Henri Patten stopped Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori in their tracks. At the Adelaide International, ATP 250 on hard court at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre (prize money $700,045), the Italians (seeded No. 6) – defending the title they won last year – lost to the No. 2 seeds with a score of 6-4, 7-5. This is the fourth defeat in five head-to-head matches for the world No. 13 and No. 14 against the No. 3 pair, who in 2025 won both the Australian Open final (after a three-hour battle) and the semi-final (the first ever played by an Italian pair in the history of the tournament) at the Nitto ATP Finals, which Heliovaara and Patten went on to win. The Italian pair's only success dates back to the final of the ATP 500 in Beijing in 2024.
