Turin, Jan. 13 (LaPresse) – Napoli coach Antonio Conte has been handed a two-match suspension following his sending-off during Sunday evening’s 2-2 draw at San Siro against Inter. This was decided by Serie A sports judge Gerardo Mastrandrea at the end of the 20th matchday. The Apulian coach was sanctioned with a two-match ban and a €15,000 fine “for, in the 26th minute of the second half, directing an insulting expression at the match officials – as stated in the report – subsequently, after being notified of the expulsion, theatrically kicking a ball away, approaching the Fourth Official in an intimidating manner while protesting loudly and repeating insulting and offensive phrases, only leaving the field thanks to the intervention of his own staff” and “for, moreover, repeating such behavior in the tunnel leading to the dressing rooms, uttering insulting phrases regarding the match officials.”

Also among coaches, one-match suspensions were given to Cremonese’s Davide Nicola and Fiorentina’s Paolo Vanoli.

As for players, Serie A’s disciplinary judge handed a heavy punishment to Lecce defender Kialonda Gaspar, who received a three-match ban “for, in the 47th minute of the second half, while the game was stopped, kicking an opposing player on the thigh while he was on the ground; subsequently, after being notified of the expulsion, he approached an Assistant and gave him an ironic applause.”

Two-match suspensions were given to Bologna forward Nicolò Cambiaghi “for, while the game was stopped, after being shoved by an opposing player, deliberately striking the same player in the face with his elbow.”

One-match bans were also imposed on Lameck Banda (Lecce), Antonio Caracciolo (Pisa), Juan Jesus (Napoli), Giuseppe Pezzella (Cremonese), Ylber Ramadani (Lecce), and Nicolò Zaniolo (Udinese).
