Rome, Jan. 3 (LaPresse) – The brother of Cagliari coach Fabio Pisacane was wounded last night in Vico Tre Re a Toledo, in the Spanish Quarters. The man was approached and attacked by three individuals with uncovered faces. Pisacane’s brother was hit by two gunshots to one leg and was hospitalized. He is not in life-threatening condition. Initially, it had been reported that the coach’s father had also been involved in the attack, but this was later denied by Fabio Pisacane himself on social media.
"Only my brother Gianluca was involved, my father was not attacked. As reported by several media outlets, last night my brother Gianluca was involved in an assault, being wounded by several gunshots. He was returning home, having just closed the family business in the Spanish Quarters after another day of work. I would first like to reassure everyone about his condition: he is not in danger of life, he suffered injuries to his leg, he is doing well considering what he went through. A lot of fear, obviously: for him, for our entire family."
Police intervened this morning around 4 a.m. at the Vecchio Pellegrini hospital. Investigations are under way by the Montecalvario police station to clarify the circumstances and identify those responsible.
