Rome, Jan. 3 (LaPresse) – Former Brazil and Real Madrid star Roberto Carlos has been discharged from hospital after undergoing heart surgery this week. The Vila Nova Star hospital in São Paulo made the announcement on Friday without giving further details. On Monday, 52-year-old Roberto Carlos was diagnosed with a cardiac obstruction and was advised to undergo coronary angioplasty the same day. The procedure is minimally invasive and widens blocked or narrowed heart arteries. The former defender was initially admitted to intensive care due to medical protocols.
