Trento, Dec 23 (LaPresse) – Sivert Guttorm Bakken, a member of the Norwegian national biathlon team, has died after suffering a sudden illness at Passo Lavazè, in Trentino, where he was spending a few days of rest with some teammates. Born in Lillehammer on July 18, 1998, Bakken was found dead inside the hotel where he was staying. In 2023, Bakken had been forced to suspend his competitive activity due to pericarditis, but after almost two years away from competition he had returned to the Biathlon World Cup circuit, once again becoming a leading figure for Norway, the dominant nation in international men’s biathlon.
