Qatar GP, Verstappen wins ahead of Piastri: Norris fourth

Milan, Nov. 30 (LaPresse) – Max Verstappen in the Red Bull won the Qatar Grand Prix, the penultimate round of the Formula 1 World Championship. Thanks to skillful pit stop management, the Dutch driver finished ahead of Australian Oscar Piastri in the McLaren, who had started from pole position. A surprise third place went to the Williams of Spaniard Carlos Sainz Jr., while championship leader Lando Norris finished fourth in the other McLaren, ahead of an excellent Kimi Antonelli in fifth on the Mercedes. Ferrari struggled, with Charles Leclerc only eighth and Lewis Hamilton finishing no higher than 12th. With this result, Norris now leads the championship by 12 points over Verstappen and 16 over teammate Piastri, with everything to be decided in the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi.
