Genoa, 5 November (LaPresse) – Genoa eagerly awaits the arrival of Daniele De Rossi as coach of the Grifone. Following Patrick Vieira's departure, the former Roma captain is expected to arrive in the Ligurian capital this afternoon to sign his contract. Details of the negotiations, which have been ongoing for several days, are not yet known, but a contract until the end of the season with an automatic renewal clause in the event of survival is reportedly on the table. This afternoon, the team will still be led by the Murgita-Criscito duo in preparation for the next match, but De Rossi could be busy as early as tomorrow afternoon leading his first training session in red and blue at the Signorini in Pegli ahead of Sunday's match against Fiorentina. However, he will have to watch the match from the stands and not from the bench as he is serving a one-match ban dating back to a match last year, also at the Ferraris against Genoa. That match marked the end of his spell as Roma coach, with the club deciding to sack him and replace him with Juric after De Winter's last-gasp equaliser.
