Adding to their grief is the fact that they are unable to bury their father in Belgium due to disagreements with relatives in Congo. The players announced this in a joint post on Instagram. ‘As you may know, we had planned to hold the funeral this Friday, but due to some decisions made in Kinshasa, the funeral will be held there,’ wrote the Napoli striker and former Lazio winger. "Our father died on 28 September and we, as brothers, tried everything to bring his body back to Europe, but we felt we were being blackmailed by certain people… If our father were here today, he would not accept this. It breaks our hearts not to be able to give our father a dignified resting place, but some people did not want this. Now we understand why our father kept us away from certain people. God bless his soul," concluded the Lukaku brothers.
