Milan, Oct 8 (LaPresse) – “It’s important for me to be here; I thank coach Gattuso for this huge opportunity,” said national team midfielder Hans Nicolussi Caviglia during today’s press conference at the national team training camp in Coverciano, ahead of the double World Cup qualifying matches against Estonia and Israel. “Every coach I’ve had has given me something different. I try to play vertically, but the coach will make the decisions,” he added, speaking about his playing style. “At Fiorentina it’s not an easy time, but right now I’m focused on the national team. I’m honored by this call-up and will give my all,” he continued. A cinema enthusiast, he was asked to compare his call-up to a film. “It’s difficult, there are many films I like. I relate my journey to the protagonist of 2001: A Space Odyssey: overcoming difficulties and reaching the goal you want,” he said. On his role models, Nicolussi said: “I have always been inspired by Cruyff for his football ideas; he has always been a source of inspiration. In Italy, we had Pirlo, one of the greatest modern playmakers and midfielders. I learned a lot from him and was fortunate to meet him.” Finally, Nicolussi also spoke about his Fiorentina teammate Moise Kean, with whom he also played at Juventus. “Moise and I have known each other for a long time; I’ve seen him grow. Players aren’t machines; he’s a great guy who always works at his best, and I think he can bring out his qualities, including leadership. I believe he has everything to make this next step,” he concluded.
