Milan, 2 October (LaPresse) – Jasmine Paolini's run at the China Open, the penultimate WTA 1000 tournament of the season with a prize pool of $8,963,700, has come to an end in the quarter-finals. The tournament is being played on the hard courts of the Olympic Green Tennis Centre in Beijing. The Italian tennis player, seeded number 3, played a great match, fighting for three sets, but in the end had to surrender to the American player of Russian origin, Amanda Anisimova. The American tennis player, seeded number 3, won 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-4 after a real battle lasting 2 hours and 49 minutes. In the semi-finals, Anisimova, who with this victory has mathematically qualified for the WTA Finals in Saudi Arabia, will face her compatriot Coco Gauff, who previously defeated Germany's Eva Lys 6-3, 6-4.
