(LaPresse) – Giulio Zeppieri's run in the Hangzhou Open (ATP 250 – prize money $1,019,185) on the hard courts of the Olympics Sports Centre in the city 200 kilometres from Shanghai, China, ended in the second round (round of 16). The 23-year-old left-hander from Latina, ranked 169th, who came through the qualifiers, defeated Chinese wild card Sun, ranked 236th, in his main draw debut, but lost 6-4, 6-3 in just under an hour and a quarter, to American Learner Tien, a 19-year-old Californian from Irvine, ranked 54th and seventh seed. Leading the seeding are Russians Andrey Rublev, ranked 14th in the ATP rankings, and Daniil Medvedev, ranked 18th in the ATP rankings, who will enter the competition directly in the second round.
