Rome, Sept. 20 (LaPresse) – “Roma in the lead? I don’t care, the derby is a match between two peoples who hate each other from a sporting point of view. I want my team to go out there and fight for their people. We have to fight for 95-100 minutes for our people. It will be 35 degrees in the stadium, but I don’t care about anything,” said Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri on the eve of tomorrow’s derby against Roma.
“The derby is the derby, the emotions must remain the same. It’s a special match, extremely intense. One of the most intense in Europe, worldwide. Naturally, the adrenaline is high,” Sarri added, recalling that “I have played six derbies, lost only one, and I remember that one. The discomfort and endless sadness that hit me, the shame of returning to the training center the next day. I also talked about this with my players; this is the derby, if you disappoint a people you feel it deeply. This must be engraved in our brains and hearts.”
