Milan-Cortina, IOC letter: "Disappointment at not having met the Italian Government"

Rome, Sept. 19 (LaPresse) – The IOC leadership sent a letter to the Italian Ministry of Sport expressing “disappointment” at not having met with representatives of the Italian government during the recent visit to Italy by International Olympic Committee President Kirsty Coventry ahead of the Milan-Cortina Olympics, starting on February 6. LaPresse learned this from IOC sources. Minister Andrea Abodi had been formally invited by the International Olympic Committee during Coventry’s stay in Milan, where she visited the Olympic Village and some of the areas that will host the Games, but the ministry’s office informed the IOC that Abodi would not attend.
