Rome, 14 September (LaPresse) – Edoardo Scotti qualifies for the semi-finals of the 400 metres at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo and sets a new Italian record with 44''45. The Italian, who was running in lane nine, finished third in his heat. Scotti got off to a great start and finished strongly, leaving Kebinatshipi behind him. The heat was won by American Jacory Patterson.
