Rome, Sept. 11 (LaPresse) – Former Inter Milan player Christian Eriksen, who became a free agent this summer after his contract with Manchester United expired, has signed a two-year deal with Wolfsburg. "Wolfsburg is my first club in the Bundesliga, and I can't wait to start this new adventure," said the 33-year-old Danish player. "I'm convinced that together with Wolfsburg, we can achieve great things. The talks with the club's management went very well." Eriksen has made 310 appearances in the Premier League. He played for Tottenham between 2013 and 2020, and has also played for Ajax, Brentford, and Inter. "With Eriksen, we have a player who has seen and experienced everything at the highest levels," said Wolfsburg's sporting director, Sebastian Schindzielorz. "His vast experience, his quality on the field, and his personality will be a valuable boost, especially for our young players." Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest during Denmark's opening match at the 2021 Euros. He was revived with a defibrillator, and later had a device implanted to monitor his heart rhythm. On Saturday, Wolfsburg will host Cologne.
