Milan, Sept. 10 (LaPresse) – Historic qualification to the EuroBasket semifinals for Finland. The Scandinavian national team defeated Georgia 93-79 in the quarterfinals after a game they dominated and always controlled. The Finns were led by 17 points from NBA player Lauri Markkanen and 19 from Mikael Jantunen. Not enough for Georgia were the 22 points from Alexander Mamukelashvili and 18 from former Virtus Bologna player Toko Shengelia. In the next round, Finland will face the winner of the last quarterfinal between Germany and Luka Doncic’s Slovenia.
