Milan, Sep 9 (LaPresse) – Nottingham Forest have sacked manager Nuno Espírito Santo after his relationship with the club owner deteriorated. "Nottingham Forest Football Club confirms that, following recent circumstances, Nuno Espírito Santo has today been relieved of his duties as head coach," the Premier League club stated in a statement released Monday evening. The club "thanks Nuno for his contribution during a period of great success at City Ground, especially for his role in the 2024-25 season, which will always be fondly remembered." The club did not immediately announce a replacement for the head coach position. Forest is currently tenth in the Premier League following a win, a draw, and a loss, ahead of this weekend’s match against third-place Arsenal. Last month, Nuno admitted he was concerned about his job security due to worsening relations with the club’s owner, Greek magnate Evangelos Marinakis. The 51-year-old Portuguese coach led Forest to seventh place last season, securing European football for the first time in 30 years.
