Rome, Aug. 26 (LaPresse) – Cremonese’s surprising victory in Milan on the opening day of Serie A may not be enough to avoid relegation, but it has still raised the odds of an immediate return to Serie B. After the San Siro triumph, Davide Nicola’s team now matches Pisa—who came away unscathed from their away match against Atalanta—on the bookmakers’ boards: according to Agipronews, the odds of playing in Serie A next season rise from 1.35 to 1.75 on Betflag and Better, the same as Alberto Gilardino’s team. Behind the two newly promoted clubs, at 2.25, is Hellas Verona, who managed to take a point at Udinese. Sassuolo is at risk: after losing at the Mapei Stadium against Napoli, the odds of staying up for Grosso’s team have dropped from 4.50 to 3, the same as Lecce, who drew 0-0 in Genoa, followed by Cagliari at 3.25 and Parma, led by 30-year-old Spaniard Carlos Cuesta, at 3.50.
