Rome, Aug. 18 (LaPresse) – Marco Belinelli bids farewell to basketball. The announcement by the former Virtus Bologna basketball player, who also played in the NBA, came in a post on his Instagram account: “I put my heart into it,” Belinelli wrote. "Every bit of myself. Every single day. Basketball has given me everything… and I have given everything to it. It's not easy to say goodbye. But it's time. I take with me every emotion, every sacrifice, every round of applause. Thank you to those who have always been there. To the younger ones, I leave a dream. Make it worth it." The post is accompanied by a video. Marco Belinelli is currently the only Italian in basketball history to have won an NBA ring. He achieved this success in 2014 with the San Antonio Spurs. In 2014, Belinelli also won the three-point contest. From 2006 to 2019, Belinelli also played for the national team. He also won three Italian basketball championships.
