Rome, August 9 (LaPresse) – For the third consecutive year, Jannik Sinner has chosen to compete in the 'China Open', the ATP 500 tournament held on hard court in Beijing, which runs parallel to the ATP 500 in Tokyo. This year, the tournament will take place from Thursday, September 25 to Wednesday, October 1, following the current trend of staggered tournament weeks.
The world No. 1 has an impressive 9-1 record on the courts of the Olympic Green Tennis Center – a facility with 11 courts and a 15,000-seat center court, the 'Diamond Court', equipped with a retractable roof built for the 2008 Olympics.
Sinner won the 2023 edition by defeating Daniil Medvedev in two tiebreaks, marking a turning point in their rivalry after six straight losses. Last year, he lost in a comeback final to Carlos Alcaraz, falling in the decisive set tiebreak.
