Rome, 6 August (LaPresse) – The Davis Cup returns to Campania. The world trophy won in 2024 by Italy's tennis team led by Jannik Sinner will stop in Ischia (from 20 to 22 August) and Procida (on 22 and 23 August). The exhibition of the trophy was strongly supported by Fitp Campania, with its president Angelo Chiaiese and the entire board of directors, and with the collaboration of national councillor Virginia Di Caterino. In April, it was exhibited in Aversa, Naples and Benevento. The programme includes the arrival of the world trophy in Ischia on 20 August. On the same day, from 4pm to 11pm, the Davis Cup will be on display to the public in Corso Vittoria Colonna, near Piazzetta San Girolamo. The exhibition, with free admission, will also continue throughout Thursday 21 August, from 8am to 11pm. 21 August will also be the highlight of the promotional activities linked to the arrival of the Davis Cup on the Green Island. The FITP Campania will organise a special “Tennis Day” with students from all the tennis schools on the island, on the courts of Tennis Ischia Lido in Via Cristoforo Colombo, just a few metres from Via Vittoria Colonna where the trophy is on display. The event will be coordinated by Federico De Angelis, manager of Tennis Ischia Lido. Also on Thursday 21 August, the president of Fitp Campania, Angelo Chiaiese, will present a commemorative plaque to the mayor of Ischia, Vincenzo Ferrandino, to celebrate the first time the Davis Cup has come to Ischia.
