Turin, August 6 (LaPresse) – The Italian national team training camp in Trieste began this afternoon, marking the second phase of preparation for EuroBasket 2025, the European Championship which Italy will start on the island of Cyprus on August 28.
After two days of rest, head coach Gianmarco Pozzecco welcomed back 13 players (with Bortolani and Caruso authorized to leave the camp after Trento) and awaits the arrival of Darius Thompson, expected tomorrow, Thursday, August 7.
Training sessions at PalaTrieste on Thursday, August 7 and Friday, August 8 will be open to the public.
On Saturday, August 9, the third of six summer friendlies is scheduled against Latvia, coached by Luca Banchi, at PalaTrieste, with tip-off at 8:00 PM.
The final friendly match in Italy will be on August 14 in Bologna against Argentina.
This will be followed by the Acropolis Tournament, with games against Latvia (August 21, 7:15 PM Italian time) and Greece (August 22, 7:15 PM Italian time).
