Turin, August 5 (LaPresse) – Two Italian players are also competing in the women’s qualifying draw of the 'Cincinnati Open', a WTA 1000 event with a prize pool of $5,152,599, taking place on the hard courts of the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Ohio. Elisabetta Cocciaretto, world No. 77 and the fourth seed in the qualifying draw, will make her debut against Australia’s Priscilla Hon, ranked No. 129, whom she easily defeated earlier this year in the first round of the Madrid 1000 clay-court qualifiers. If victorious, the 24-year-old from Fermo will face the winner of the match between Germany’s Ella Seidel (No. 127 WTA) and American Varvara Lepchenko (No. 126 WTA, 24th seed) for a spot in the main draw.

Martina Trevisan, currently ranked No. 272 and recently back in competition after a seven-month break due to surgery on her right foot, will take on Argentina’s Solana Sierra, world No. 70 and the third seed. The 31-year-old left-hander from Florence has never played Sierra before. The winner of this match will face either American Emina Bektas (No. 299 WTA) or Poland’s Katarzyna Kawa (No. 121 WTA, 21st seed) in the final qualifying round.
