Swimming World Championships: Quadarella 4th in 800m Freestyle with European Record, Gold for Ledecky

Milan, August 2 (LaPresse) – Simona Quadarella finished fourth in the women’s 800-meter freestyle final at the Swimming World Championships in Singapore. The Italian swimmer clocked a time of 8:12.81, setting a new Italian and European record.
The battle for the medals was spectacular: gold went to American Katie Ledecky with a time of 8:05.62, a new championship record and, most notably, the 30th medal of her career. Silver went to Australia’s Lani Pallister in 8:05.98, setting a new national record, while Canadian Summer McIntosh took bronze in 8:07.29.
