Rome, 1 August (LaPresse) – Silvia Di Pietro has qualified for the 50m butterfly final at the World Championships in Singapore. The 32-year-old captain of the Italian team finished third in the semi-final with a time of 25.58 seconds, still below her previous Italian record. The American Gretchen Walsh won with a time of 25.09 seconds, followed by South Africa's Eric Gallagher with 25.39 seconds. Di Pietro qualified with the sixth fastest time overall.
