Milan, 31 July (LaPresse) – Not only did Italy win six medals at the World Championships in Tbilisi, but the end of the event in Georgia also saw Italy crowned winner of three World Cups, with the men's foil, women's foil and women's épée teams all coming out on top. This is the verdict of the points classification at the end of the 2024/2025 international season, which takes into account the stages of the World Cup circuit, the continental championships and, of course, the World Championships that have just ended. In three team classifications out of six specialities, the Italian flag is hoisted on the top step of the podium. This is a reward for consistent performance since last autumn and, in the case of the team rankings, also recognises those athletes who, despite not competing in Tbilisi, made a valuable contribution during the season.
