Milan, July 30 (LaPresse) – A sensational Leon Marchand set a new world record in the 200m individual medley semifinals at the World Championships in Singapore, clocking a time of 1:52.69 — lowering the previous record by 1.3 seconds.

Disappointment for Italy’s Alberto Razzetti, who missed out on the final with the 10th fastest time overall, finishing in 1:57.53.
