Milan, July 30 (LaPresse) – The UEFA Referees Committee has appointed Portuguese referee João Pinheiro to officiate the 2025 UEFA Super Cup final between UEFA Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain and UEFA Europa League holders Tottenham Hotspur. The match will take place on Wednesday, August 13 at the Stadio Friuli in Udine, with kickoff set for 21:00 local time.

The 37-year-old has been an international referee since 2016 and has officiated 68 UEFA competition matches to date, regularly overseeing UEFA club competitions and international fixtures. During the 2024/25 season, he refereed five matches in the knockout stages of UEFA club competitions, including the second leg of the UEFA Conference League semifinal between Chelsea and Djurgården (1-0).

He also served as fourth official in the 2025 UEFA Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan (5-0).

For the Super Cup final, Pinheiro will be assisted by fellow Portuguese officials Bruno Jesus and Luciano Maia, with Elchin Masiyev of Azerbaijan acting as fourth official. Tiago Martins (Portugal) will be in charge of VAR, supported by Fábio Melo (Portugal) and Pol van Boekel (Netherlands).
