Milan, 28 July (LaPresse) – Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori won their fourth title of the season and seventh overall (out of 13 finals played) by winning the “Mubadala Citi DC Open” trophy (ATP 500 – prize money $2,396,115) held on the hard courts of the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Centre in Rock Creek Park in Washington, the capital of the United States. In the final, the two Italians (ranked 12th and 14th in the doubles rankings), top seeds and fifth in the Race to Turin, defeated 6-4 in just over an hour and a quarter against Monegasque Hugo Nys (No. 20) and Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin (No. 21), third seeds and ninth in the Race.
