Turin, July 28 (LaPresse) – “We’re at the starting line of a new season, even though the last one has just ended — modern football is like that.” These were the words of Inter president Beppe Marotta, opening the press conference to launch the 2025/2026 season. “We begin with the same ambitions as before. Inter has an important record to defend. There’s no point hiding behind empty phrases — we want to win. If we don’t, it means others were better than us,” he added. “Last season we reached the final stages of every competition. We came second by a matter of centimetres, and now we must try to close that gap,” he explained. “Over the last five years, we’ve been the most successful Italian club: seven titles, the most league points, and consistent participation in the Champions League. These are meaningful figures — the result of a clear path and hard work. Last year we played 63 matches, more than our competitors.” “I want to thank the ownership, which has been consistently present and forward-looking. The planning phase we are developing is ambitious, worthy of a great club. Even the Appiano Gentile training centre is being upgraded — we care deeply about developing this organization.”
