The Azzurri, playing today at the Stozice Arena, also beat the Netherlands 3-0 (25-13, 25-22, 25-19) in the match valid for the fourth and final day of Week 3 of the VNL. It was a perfect run in Ljubljana, where Italy had previously recorded three important victories against Serbia (3-0), Ukraine (3-2) and Slovenia (3-0). This run allows the Italian national team, led by Ferdinando De Giorgi, to finish the pool stage as the number 2 seed.
