Turin, July 16 (LaPresse) – Jonas Abrahamsen has won the 11th stage of the Tour de France, a challenging 156 km route starting and finishing in Toulouse. The Uno-X Mobility rider, who broke away early in the stage, beat Mauro Schmid (Team Jayco AlUla) in a two-man sprint. Mathieu Van Der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck) finished third, just 7 seconds behind the leading duo, after a stage marked by relentless attacks and counterattacks.

Davide Ballerini (XDS Astana Team), also part of the early breakaway, took 10th place.
There were no changes in the general classification: Ben Healy (EF Education-EasyPost) retains the yellow jersey with a 29-second lead over Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) and 1'29" over Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step).

Pogacar was involved in a high-speed crash 4 km from the finish but escaped unscathed and rejoined the lead group, which did not push the pace in the final kilometers. On Thursday, the Tour heads into the Pyrenees for the first true mountain-top finish of this edition, a 180 km stage from Auch to Hautacam.
