Rome, 14 July. (LaPresse) – A storm of criticism has erupted in Spain against Barcelona star Lamine Yamal, who has been accused of hiring a cast of people with dwarfism for his 18th birthday party. In addition to the large number of celebrities in attendance, including athletes, singers and influencers, the Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo reports that the player hired several people with dwarfism to perform in a show. The initiative has been widely criticised and even denounced by the Association of People with Achondroplasia and Other Skeletal Dysplasias with Dwarfism (ADEE), which announced on Sunday that it will take legal action.Amidst all the commotion, one of the artists with dwarfism spoke to RAC1 to defend Lamine and assert his rights: ‘No one has disrespected us; let us work in peace,’ he emphasised. ‘I don't understand why there is so much talk about it. We are just normal people doing what we want, completely legally.’
