Milan, 12 July (LaPresse) – The news had been known for some time, but now it's official: Fiorentina has announced that “Stefano Pioli is the new coach of the Viola first team”. Pioli returns to Florence after playing for the Viola between 1989 and 1995 and coaching the team from 2017 to 2019. He has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until 30 June 2028. Pioli, who will greet our fans alongside the first team on Monday 14 July at the Viola Carpet, will meet journalists on Wednesday 16 July at 12:00 at the Wind Tre Media Centre in Viola Park. ‘I am very happy that Stefano Pioli is joining Fiorentina as head coach. From the very first words we exchanged, I found in him human values and a desire to fight for this club and this city, which he knows so well and to which he is deeply attached,’ commented Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso.
