ome, July 10 (LaPresse) – Serie A could be heading to Australia. The Federal Council of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), which met today, has expressed its positive response to the request from Serie A to hold the Milan–Como league match in Perth, Australia. The match is valid for Matchday 24 and is scheduled for the second weekend of February, when the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina will be held at San Siro Stadium.

The complex authorization process also requires formal approval from the Australian Football Federation, UEFA, the Asian Football Confederation, and FIFA.

Additionally, in his report, Secretary Brunelli announced that the mayors of Ferrara, Lucca, and Torre del Greco have been informed of the procedure outlined in Article 52, paragraph 10 of the NOIF regulations, which would allow for the possible participation of a team from their respective cities in the regional Eccellenza league.

A contribution of €250,000 has been set for Ferrara. For Lucca, the amount is €150,000—higher than the minimum—based on the criteria of "sporting tradition" and "average stadium attendance." For Torre del Greco, a contribution of €100,000 has been requested.
