Turin, July 1 (LaPresse) – Another major upset in the first round of Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam of the season played on the grass courts of the All England Lawn Tennis Club. Third seed Alexander Zverev was defeated in five sets by Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech, ranked No. 72 in the ATP rankings. Rinderknech won with a score of 7-6 (3), 6-7 (8), 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-4 in a marathon match stretched over two days due to darkness, lasting four hours and 44 minutes. In the second round, Rinderknech will face Chile’s Cristian Garin.
