Turin, July 1 (LaPresse) – No luck for Lorenzo Musetti. The Italian tennis player, returning to the tour after a muscle injury sustained in the Roland Garros semifinal, lost his Wimbledon debut—this season’s third Grand Slam—on the grass courts of London.
Musetti, currently ranked seventh in the ATP standings, was defeated in four sets by Georgian player Nikoloz Basilashvili (ATP No. 126), with a score of 6-2, 4-6, 7-5, 6-1 after two hours and 27 minutes of play.
Basilashvili will now face Lorenzo Sonego in the second round of the London Slam.
