Rome, 28 June (LaPresse) – Virtus Bologna announces that it has reached a multi-year agreement with Derrick Alston Jr. A 1997-born forward from Houston, Derrick Alston, who follows in his father's footsteps, played for Manresa last season, starring in both the Liga ACB and the Basketball Champions League. He finished the Spanish league season with an average of 17 points and over 4 rebounds per game, figures that earned him a place in the Liga ACB's best five. He was also a key player in the BCL: named in the competition's second best five, Alston Jr finished the European season with an average of almost 18 points, shooting 41% from the three-point line. ‘I am happy and honoured to join the Virtus family. I have already heard a lot about the city, the basketball culture in Bologna and, of course, the passion of the fans at every single game. I can't wait to get started, represent this historic club and try to do something special. See you soon and, of course, forza Virtus,’ said Alston as a new Virtus player.
