Turin, 27 June (LaPresse) – The draw for the men's doubles at Wimbledon has been made. Five Italians are competing in the third Grand Slam of the season in this discipline: Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori, the only all-Italian pair, Mattia Bellucci, Flavio Cobolli and Luciano Darderi. Bolelli and Vavassori, seeded number 7, have been drawn in the upper half, in the quarter of the world number 1, Salvadoran Marcelo Arevalo and Croatian Mate Pavic. The Italian pair will make their debut against Uruguayan Arel Behar (who reached the quarter-finals here in 2023) and Belgian Joran Vliegen, a Roland Garros finalist but never past the third round at Wimbledon. Also in the upper half is Darderi with Colombian Diego Hidalgo: they will face Australian Matthew Christopher Romios and American Ryan Seggerman, both making their Wimbledon debut. The winners could face the reigning Nitto ATP Finals champions, Germans Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz. Bellucci will take to the court with Hungarian Fabian Marozsan. They will face a British pair, wild cards David Stevenson and Johannus Monday, in their debut. Finally, Cobolli, as promised, will play with Kazakh Alexander Bublik. They will play against Britons Billy Harris and Marcus Willis, who reached the second round in singles in 2016, defeated by Roger Federer. The winners could face defending champions Harri Heliovaara of Finland and Henry Patten of Great Britain in the second round.
