Milan, 23 June (LaPresse) – A couple of changes in the top ten of the WTA rankings after the conclusion of the “500” in Berlin and the “250” in Nottingham, on German and English grass. Aryna Sabalenka remains in the lead for the 36th consecutive week (her 44th overall: she had already been there from 11 September to 5 November 2023): the 27-year-old from Minsk, semi-finalist in Berlin, sees her lead over the queen of Paris, the American Coco Gauff, increase to 3,741 points, who confirms her “best ranking”. On the third step of the podium is Jessica Pegula (personal best confirmed), 1,851 points behind her compatriot. This week there are also two Italians in the top hundred. Jasmine Paolini remains the Italian leader, gaining one position and regaining fourth place, equalling her best ranking. However, the 29-year-old from Bagni di Lucca is only three points ahead of Zheng from China, who has just overtaken her. Behind her, Lucia Bronzetti, ranked 61st, drops two places, while Elisabetta Cocciaretto loses eighteen positions and is now ranked 122nd. This week, Paolini is competing in the WTA 500 in Bad Homburg, while Bronzetti and Cocciaretto are in the WTA 250 in Eastbourne. Here is this week's WTA ranking: 1.
