Milan, June 23 (LaPresse) – The Oklahoma City Thunder are the new NBA champions. In Game 7 of the Finals, they defeated the Indiana Pacers 103-91, closing out the series 4-3. MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led Oklahoma with 29 points and 12 assists, while Jalen Williams added 21 points. The Pacers suffered a major blow early in the game when Tyrese Haliburton sustained a serious injury to the lower part of his right leg.
This is Oklahoma’s first championship since the franchise was relocated from Seattle in 2008, and the second in its history— the first being in 1979, when the team was still known as the SuperSonics.
