Milan, June 19 (LaPresse) – A dramatic twist for Pescara, the newly promoted Serie B team. Coach Silvio Baldini has resigned after a meeting with president Daniele Sebastiani.
“It was a fantastic season. In Pescara, I found all the right conditions to live out my dreams and we won,” reads a statement reported by the newspaper Il Centro. “I had a president like Daniele Sebastiani who supported me, and a director like Pasquale Foggia who was always by my side. We brought this beautiful club back to where it belongs. We brought 20,000 people back to the stadium, and I wore the Pescara tracksuit with pride for an entire year.
But after the celebrations and the compliments, something faded,” he added. “I no longer feel that magic and madness needed to chase my dreams. I looked at my family, spoke with my wife and kids, and we decided it's better to stop.”
“This is what football means to me. I don't like forcing things. If I don’t feel something special inside, I prefer not to coach, because I’m not someone who fools people. That’s why I decided not to continue my journey with Pescara. I won’t coach any teams until January,” Baldini explained. “Then, I hope the right conditions arise to return to the bench. In the meantime, I’ll keep the memory of a beautiful year, of many wonderful people I met, and of respectful players who will go far in their careers. Forza Pescara.”
